Those first days at home with your baby can feel tender, emotional, and a little overwhelming all at once. Many couples aren’t quite sure what to expect or how to prepare for the changes that come with caring for a newborn while recovering from birth. This class helps you step into that season feeling more settled and capable.
We’ll talk through what early postpartum really looks like, how to care for your baby, and how you and your partner can support each other as you adjust to life as parents. You’ll leave with simple tools and realistic expectations that make the transition feel smoother and far less stressful.
What you’ll learn

Your Newborn:
Learn what’s normal for newborns, including their behavior, sleep patterns, and those first diaper changes.

Feeding Your Baby:
We’ll cover the benefits of breastfeeding, how to get off to a good start, and practical tips that make feeding feel less challenging.

Understand routine procedures, the importance of immediate skin-to-skin, and how these early moments support both you and your baby.

Creating Comfort for Your Baby:
Learn simple ways to recreate the womb, soothe your baby, and use tools like babywearing to help everyone settle in.

Taking Care of Yourself Postpartum:
We’ll talk about emotions, postpartum mood disorders, nutrition, exercise, and realistic ideas for when you’re feeling overwhelmed.

Adjusting to Life as Parents
Discuss sleeping arrangements, resuming intimacy, and ways to enjoy your baby while finding your rhythm as a family.

This one-day class is included with the Home & Birth Center class or can be taken as a stand-alone class. It is held on Friday evenings from 6:00 to 8:30 pm at Wild Womb Midwifery & Wellness in Santaquin, Utah.
